Both lakes, which are private, were created in 1890 when two dams were installed on Meadow Run to create ice lakes for the Bear Creek Ice Company. Although there is a small area near the Meadow Run dam that reaches 20 feet deep, most of the lake is less than 12 feet deep.
Even though our lakes are private, you must still abide by all applicable Pennsylvania fishing and boating laws. Fishing licenses are required, per PA Fish and Boat Commission.
